Meet the DetroitGT fleet of 5 Thread Sleds

Lil' Leo -  the mascot - '79 Chevrolet P10 Step van

LEO - a rare 1979 P10 short bed step van. This little truck was a Missouri prison laundry truck for several years until a motorcycle company purchased him and made him a hot rod with a 283 V8, Racing bucket seats, lowered suspension and a loud ass exhaust. We saved Leo from becoming an Ice Cream truck in 2010. We gave him his rat rod looks with white wall tires, racing stripe and white top. Leo serves as our Thread Sled mascot and travels with us to art fairs, special events and car shows. Leo is named after my grandfather, Leo Gorski. Currently in running condition.

CECIL - the rare one - '63 Corvair Rampside 95

Cecil - A rare 1963 Chevrolet Rampside 95 pick up. Only 11,000 rampside were made and most were used by utility companies throughout the USA due to their unique side "rampside" loading gate. Cecil hails from Pennsylvania and is a true Corvair with a rear air-cooled engine. This truck is named after my uncle, Cecil. Currently in running condition.

Little Danny - the survivor - '79 Chevy LUV

Danny - a 1979 Chevrolet LUV truck from Florida. Danny needed the most restoration of any of our Thread Sleds. These trucks were known for rusting away and Danny was no different. We replaced bumpers, fenders and tailgate. An engine was obtained in PA. He was repainted Cyber Grey and given killer seventies graphics. This truck is named after my father, Danny. Currently in running condition.

Axel  - the wild child - '81 Chevy El Camino

Axel - a 1981 Chevrolet El Camino originating from North Carolina this truck was a shop truck for an auto salvage yard. He joined the team in early 2013. This southern boy's rusted patina is perfect for that rat rod look. This truck is named after Axel Rose of GNR, not a relative. He is serving as our Thread Sled in the Rust Belt Market. Axel is currently not running but searching for a donor Chevy 350 engine for a transplant
